Well it's saturday evening and I just got back from the convention. i wish I could go tomorrow for round two but it just isn't gonna happen. The Pre Parties were great! Packrat comics [link] did a hello of a job playing host and were some really cool down to earth folks to hang out with. they had food, drinks and a live band!!! good times were had by all. Then we headed over to Momo2 which is an etertainment facility with pool, bowling, and various other things to do, for Ferret Press's preparty
[link]. It was more of a laid back environment but it was still a great time to chat with other creators and chill for a bit before heading home......and yes.....I did get myself and Josh lost on the way back...how it happened, I am not sure....but I have a funny feeling Jason Todd had something to do with it.
As for the Con, It was a great experience as always. Very inspiring getting to speak to all the artists, writers, and professionals in the business at every level. Some of the people that I really enjoyed meeting were:
Sean Forney, Cool, local artist who gets better by the minute!
mark Sumerak, a writer and editor for marvel comics. he was very down to earth, knowledgeable and has a true passion for what he does.
Jacob Chabot, an incredible artist currently working on x-babies for marvel among other things. I love his style, you gotta check him out!
Art Baltazar- right along with Jacob Chabot, incredible artist and he has an incredible sense of humor and a way with telling stories. he is currently working on Tiny Titans.
Chris Giarrusso-right in the same vein as Art Baltazar and Jacob Chabot. great, cool, funny guy, and great art. he is currently working with marvel on the Mini Marvels.
Beau Smith- a great writer and one hell of a conversationalist. i could talk to him all day long. he's got alot in the works right now so be looking forward to a bunch of great stuff real soon!!!
Then There was a strange occurence that happened at the World Of Strange booth
[link]I was looking through their buttons and discovered, Low and behold, Cerebus Buttons!!!! I was going to just buy one. I told the gentlemen which one I wanted and he asked me if I was really a Cerebus fan. I said yes, of course!!! so he gave me the other one for free. apparently , cerebus fans are few and far between in the world of super hero driven cons. so we began discussing my dismay with only finding a few various issues of Cerebus that i do not have. and what I did find was not in the best shape and they were either in the 10 cent bin or the dollar comics. As this conversation continues and gentleman with glasses, a beard, and short hair, wearing a Cerebus shirt walks up to us and listens to the conversation. He then asks me the same question as the last man, "Are you really a big Cerebus fan?" again I say, yes, yes I am. He begins to inform us that He is ne of the main guys affiliated with Cerbus TV. I thought Holy Moly, this rocks!!!! I have been dying to find out what it's all about! Which, I did, and....tee hee hee....Your just gonna have to wait and see for yourself

anyways, the conversation continues we discuss Dave Simm's various current works, how it's a pain in the ass to find any of it around here blah blah blah. towards the end of the conversation the we began disccussing what I do in the comic biz and about our web strip and he seemed ammused by it and interested. at this point, The Cerebus TV man asked for a pen.......he then requested my info.....He stated " cool strip. I'll check it out and for your support I am gonna get ahold of Dave and have him send you a copy of Cerebus Archives #1 signed" I said "You gotta be shitting me?!?!" he said "nope....." I said "Thanks!!!!" and that was that LOL hopefully it all occurs for the better and the dude wasn't just pulling my leg about anything. Only time will tell.
well that's my story for now. gotta get back to the drawing board!!!!
Peace,
